Who is behind Konkurado

KONKURADO is a product of the Foundation Research Design Competitions.

The foundation is the first of its kind, particularly in Switzerland but also internationally, to collect and analyse architectural and engineering competitions. From the preparation to the realisation - or non-realisation of the building project - in order to make them available to the public, researchers and interested specialists. The Foundation Research Design Competitions thus safeguards an essential part of our Swiss building heritage.

In 2008, the Foundation Research Design Competitions launched the KONKURADO project, a publicly accessible information platform (web-based database) in four languages (German, French, Italian and English) for professionals and the general public. This database has been actively managed and accessible online since December 2013.

KONKURADO is managed by the foundation itself. The foundation is independent, non-profit and not profit-orientated.

Without Konkurado, valuable knowledge from architectural and engineering competitions would no longer be available for future generations. Making this knowledge accessible means the opportunity to create more quality and minimise errors.
