Competition Program

Task

The subject of this project competition is a new Swiss Embassy building with accompanying Residence in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. The intention is to create a new, clearly arranged overall complex that will allow efficient and optimized operational procedures in the Embassy and Residence. Distinguished architectural designs are sought that will fully correspond to Switzerland’s prestigious position in Ethiopia. Local building methods and climate conditions should be taken into account in the proposed projects. The country’s varied and characteristic vegetation requires the building to be harmoniously embedded into its surroundings. The building’s space allocation plan envisages usable floor space of approx. 1300 m2 and includes around 36 workplaces, as well as prestigious and private premises for the Residence.
